  1. Thank you for sharing this! It was very interesting to listen to. I really like the part about not having "disorder" in the title of your book. Thanks again for writing this book...I had my local library order it, and am looking forward to it coming in!

  2. You are so welcome! I posted another interview, too, hosted by Florida Borderline Personality Disorder Association, from back in June. Thanks for taking time to listen to my interview by Mahari. I know it wasn't short!

  3. It wasn't short, for sure, but it did give me something to do at work...all my meetings had been canceled and up until this posted, I was sitting, twiddling my thumbs and driving myself crazy in my mind!

  4. oh that is such a good idea--i requested the book through nypl and it seems available in nearby bookstores. i thoroughly enjoyed the book and found myself very grateful for how well you the author has been able to do professionally and personally. i once read all of these posts on the web about collecting disability and inabilities to hold down a job. i wish everyone the best, but i was not sure how those with bpd had been able to work. i also feel so much less alone. if you google the "news" stories about bpd--there are either newish stories about treatment and research findings, some good blog/online content, but moreover so many troubled acts/behaviors (often violent) carried out by women. thank you again--i like the emphasis on strengths and resilience. plus, dogs are excellent for folks with bpd traits--imho! i have similar interests in terms of academic/research interests and i think experiencing suffering may deepen one's ability to understand and illuminate various forms of social suffering and dynamics of power, which may not be so readily apparent to others. if only i was not so sensitive to the criticism of others. however, i do find gems of humans as my fiercest allies, friends, lovers and supporters that are not afraid of the intensity and passion with which i view and live the world around me. i hope to modestly contribute positively to the lives of others and to work towards eradicating stigma and discrimination. best wishes...

  5. as i listened to the interviews and reflected on reading the book, i felt so honored to learn of such intimate details. i felt this empathic impulse to want to offer comfort, compassion, and protection as a friend or sister to the author in her times of greatest need. i too have listened to the aimee mann song many a time. afterwards, i felt most glad to know that the author has experienced a successful and rewarding professional and private life, which includes a supportive and caring partner. i can not wait to attend a book reading.
